Masterfully refurbished by Jean-Michel Wilmotte, the former Halle Freyssinet is now home to around a thousand start-ups and is the embodiment of Xavier Nuel's desire to make it the largest business incubator in Europe. A creative and technical challenge for Ligne Roset Contract

If Ligne Roset Contract competed for the challenge, and for the chance to get close to a prominent architect with whom they had not yet worked, the methodology employed was no less a first: rather than beginning with a theoretical study based on working drawings, the R&D team, in close collaboration with the Wilmotte agency’s designers, went straight to producing a prototype with several adjustable modules. Sculpted from compact foam by a 5-axis machine, and with removable covers: after several trial runs it was decided not to glue the fabric to the foam but to fix the covers in place with zips, playing with the seams to maintain the model’s desired tautness.
