Maison Bras – Le Suquet

Client Maison Bras
Architect A + B
20 years after Ligne Roset Contract manufactured the upholstery designed by Eric Raffy for his father Michel Bras's restaurant, Sébastien Bras entrusted Hanika Perez and Brice Genre with the task of designing the seats he wanted for the renovation of the 3-star restaurant in Laguiole. He naturally put the designers he chose in contact with the manufacturer.

An inspired chair

According to Hanika Perez and Brice Genre, the chair is inspired by traditional countryside seating, revisited with greater comfort; as if a piece of clothing were delicately placed on its back.

The armchair embodies the simple combination of a turned wood structure and a textile cover. Designed as a discreet and welcoming host that complements the table setting and the restaurant space.

Ligne Roset's experience and high standards in bespoke upholstery echoed the attention to detail shared with Maison Bras and enabled the implementation of the design and specific features of the new model.

Particular attention was paid to elegantly solve the functional issues associated with the armchair's use in a 3-star restaurant: seating comfort, removable covers, and armrest height. High-quality materials—leather, textile, and solid beech—were used, while being adapted to the requirements of a 3-star restaurant. The specific characteristics of the cover, designed like a piece of clothing, required precise adjustment of the cut, as well as particular attention to the lining, the details, the stitching, and the drape of the leather.
