InterContinental Lyon – Hôtel Dieu

Client Intercontinental Lyon Hotel Dieu
Architect Jean-Philippe Nuel
To transform a historic site, once known as a hospital for the poor, into an exceptional hotel, architect Jean-Philippe Nuel chose to focus on the contemporary contrast between the interior's sobriety and the richness of the building's architecture. He selected the furniture with this in mind, collaborating with Ligne Roset Contract, whose factories are located 60 km from the Lyon peninsula.

A selection of Ligne Roset furniture

The Long Island chair and armchair in the guest rooms, the Exclusif settee and the Tessa chair in the presidential suite, the Tessa chair in the restaurant, the Luca Soft carver chair and armchair in the concierge desk, the Andy settee and the Tadao carver chair in the convention centre: there's no need to list them all, but it's worth noting the common thread between the quality of manufacture and the restrained design of each of these models, upholstered by Jean-Philippe Nuel in contemporary and understated materials, full of nuances.
